Issue
- The vacuum cleaner does not start
- The vacuum cleaner turns itself off
- The vacuum cleaner suddenly stopped working
- The suction is very poor
Applies to:
- vacuum cleaner
- bagless vacuum cleaner
- cordless vacuum cleaner
Resolution
Possible causes:
- The brush roll or hose is blocked
- Filters need cleaning
- Dust bag / container is full
- The vacuum cleaner might be overheated
- The battery is empty (last LED blinks)
- Defective model
A few things you can check to try and solve:
1. Disconnect the vacuum cleaner from the mains, then check if the nozzle, tube and hose are blocked.
2. Check if the filters are blocked and/or dirty. Replace or clean them.
The location and installation of the dust bag/container and filters may vary depending on the model of the vacuum cleaner. Refer to the instruction manual of your appliance.
Clogged filters can affect the suction ability of your vacuum cleaner. Cleaning and replacing your filters regularly will help to maintain performance of your machine.
We recommend that filters should be replaced at least twice a year, or when they become visibly soiled.
You can buy original replacement filters in our online shop.

3. Check if the dust bag is full and replace it if needed (models with bag only).
The bag indicator will turn RED when the bag is full.
S-bag® is available in different materials to fit your needs and to optimise your vacuum cleaner performance: Classic Long Performance, Anti-Allergy, Anti-Odour and Ultra Long Performance.
You can buy original replacement S-bags® in our online shop.
For optimum performance, bags should be changed regularly and always after using carpet cleaning powder. The use of non-genuine s-bag® vacuum bags may adversely affect the performance of your vacuum cleaner.
4. Let the vacuum cleaner cool down for a minimum of 2 hours on the charging stand before starting it again (stick vacuum cleaners only)
5. Fully charge the vacuum cleaner (stick vacuum cleaners only).
Fully charging takes around 2h.
6. Check that the cable is connected to the mains.
7. Check that the plug and cable are not damaged, check another socket to exclude a possible electrical problem.
8. Check for a blown fuse.
9. Check if the battery indicator lamp responds (certain models only).
